Since Uno operate bus services that go across the Greater London Boundary in North London, they need a  ‘London Service Permit’  which is needed in order to operate routes in North London. Uno started to operate London Buses route 383 on Saturday 25 th  July 2015 after winning the contract from Metroline. The route is currently operated with three new single deck buses which are the Alexander Dennis Enviro 200 with a length of 8.9 metres. The service is operated from Hatfield Garage. Route 383 serves Barnet, Meadway, New Barnet, East Barnet, Oakleigh Park, Whetstone, Torrington Park, North Finchley and Woodside Park Station. The frequency for the bus service is every 30 minutes although they do not operate on late evenings, Sundays and other public holidays. You can view their timetable  here . On 4 th  July 2015, LOTS (London Omnibus Traction Society) updated their news page regarding the electric buses for London. They said: Metroline is to get a  BYD K10 all-electric double-deck  in  October for route 16 . The  four all-electric E400s  for  route 69  are now coming later than proposed, probably in  November .  London General’s  two Irizar i2e electric single-decks  should be in service on  507/521 later this month. So firstly, the two Irzar i2e Electric buses will appear on routes 507/521 later in July. They will be joined by the other two electric buses manufactured by BYD, which has been in service since late 2013. Design of the eBus is taken from the specification file. This is another 'follow up' to my  previous article . The previous article became very popular due to the images of the real double deck electric bus that I found. BYD has unveiled the specifications for their double deck electric bus. In the table below you can see the comparison to the New Routemaster, which is hybrid diesel electric. Earlier this week, TFL issued a press release about the roll out of the new single deck electric buses. The two Optare MetroCity buses are now in service on route 312, which is operated by Arriva, between South Croydon and Norwood Junction. The bus route is used by around 4,700 passengers a day. Passengers travelling on these buses will benefit from much lower noise and vibration levels compared to regular buses with diesel engines.
