From TFL’s press release: Local bus services in south London are to get a further boost from this Saturday (2 May), as Transport for London (TfL) increases the frequency of the 322 and the G1, to provide extra capacity on these busy routes. The G1 is currently operated by Go-Ahead, the 322 will change operator to Go-Ahead on Saturday. Route 322, which operates between Crystal Palace and Clapham Common via Gypsy Hill, Tulse Hill, Herne Hill, Brixton and Clapham North will see its frequency increased from every 15 minutes to every 12 minutes during the daytime on Mondays to Saturdays. This represents a 25 per cent increase in capacity. During Sunday shopping hours the service will also be increased from a bus every 20 minutes to one every 15 minutes. TFL is to rename Canada Water Station to Buxton Water, for Marathon Day only. (26 th   April 2015) From TFL’s press release: Transport for London (TfL) has signed a  landmark sponsorship deal  which will see Canada Water London Underground (LU) station renamed Buxton Water station for one day, on  Sunday 26 April 2015, the day of the 35th Virgin Money London Marathon . Canada Water roundels will be replaced by 'Buxton Water'  and branded artwork will be placed all over the station to celebrate runners taking part in London's largest annual running event. The artwork will carry the hashtag # withyoualltheway  to mark Buxton Water's role as the official water provider of the Virgin Money London Marathon. The main station entrance sign will remain unchanged. This is a follow up from my   previous article. The good news is that  London Buses  Route 13 will not be axed due to political intervention from the GLA’s Mayor of London; this is because of the upcoming General Election. LOTS (London Omnibus Traction Society) have reported: “TfL’s consultation period for routes 13/113/139/189 has finished but political intervention from the Mayor means that there will now be no change for the foreseeable future.” The consultation on TFL’s website have updated their page which states: “There has been a high level of interest in this consultation. We received over 3000 responses to the consultation which is now closed. However, concerns have been expressed that the consultation has been partially undertaken during the pre-election period which runs until 7th May. The LT62 (LTZ1062) New  Routemaster  bus had been off for a long time due to an accident which resulted in a 6 vehicle pileup. The LT62 had only been in service for a few days because the rest of the fleet was being delivered for Route 11. The media only reported that the driver of the bus, Mohammed  Khalique  was cleared of driving without due care and attention at Bexley Magistrates Court. TFL is now searching for the next private company that is willing to take up the position to operate the London Overground trains. Here is their press release: TFL starts search for next operator to run Overground Transport for London (TfL) has issued a notice with the Official Journal of the European Union (OJEU) to select the next train operator to run London Overground services from November 2016, with bidders having until mid-May to register their interest. Under the new 2016 concession TfL will bring in new trains, higher frequency services and a continuing programme of station upgrades. The contract will also include options to introduce an all-night service at weekends and to extend Gospel Oak to Barking line services to Barking Riverside in 2019. The new operator will be responsible for supporting these improvements and will be expected to continue to improve London Overground's performance levels. There is going to be improvements made on a couple of London Bus services. The 308 and N15 will see a frequency increase for their service. The following is TFL’s press release on  route 308: Local bus services in the east London area are to get a boost from Saturday (11 April), as TfL  increases the frequency of route 308 to provide extra capacity  on the route to meet increased passenger demand. The route, which is operated by Tower Transit, runs between Wanstead and Clapton (Lea Bridge Road) via Forest Gate and Stratford. The route was greatly enhanced as recently as January 2014. As part of the package of bus improvements to serve the Olympic Park, the route was extended from Stratford to Clapton via East Village and Homerton Hospital with frequencies increased at all times of day. Route 382, which is operated by Arriva, currently runs between Southgate and Mill Hill East via Arnos Grove and Finchley Central will now be extended to Millbrook Park. These changes follow a consultation, which ran from 13 November 2014 to 8 January 2015, which proposed extending the route to Millbrook Park - a new residential development at the former Inglis Barracks site. Once complete the development will include 2,174 dwellings, a primary school, GP surgery, 1,100sq metres of retail and 3,470sq metres of office accommodation.
