TFL is investing more into more environmentally friendly and cleaner buses for London streets. From their press release More than 300 buses with the latest Euro VI engines will be operating on London's roads by the end of this year, Transport for London (TfL) announced today.   Over two thirds of these (215) will be hybrid diesel-electric double decker buses.  Under the ULEZ proposal, all buses driving in central London from 2020 will need to meet the Euro VI standard for NOx emissions.   The effectiveness of Euro VI engines in reducing harmful emissions has been substantiated in testing by TfL that re-creates real world driving conditions in London. Transport for London released a press release over the improved bus services in South East London. Local bus services in south east London are to get a further boost from this Saturday (1 November), as Transport for London (TfL) increases the frequency of the 124, which is operated by Stagecoach, and the 185, which is operated by Go-Ahead, to provide extra capacity on these busy routes.   Route 124, which operates between Catford (St Dunstans College) and Eltham (Southend Crescent) via Catford Bridge, Grove Park and Mottingham has seen its frequency increased from every 12 minutes to every 10 minutes during Monday to Saturday.  This represents a 20 per cent increase in capacity.  On Sundays and during all evenings the service has also been increased from a bus every 20 minutes to one every 15 minutes.   These changes came ...

On the Wednesday 16th July, I have embarked on the journey to Lakeside to see the non TFL bus services at the Bus Station. I have video recorded routes 370 and 372 respectively to show the rural countryside of Essex.  Route 370 Link to video  on Dailymotion Link to video  on YouTube  I went on a route 370 (A former London Country route and privatised route , now currently under TFL tendering) where the route goes via Ockendon which uses the rural roads which you see the countryside of Essex. It travels past the M25 bridge and it takes me to North Ockendon which is still part of Havering. Then the route travels south towards South Ockendon which is part of Turrock Council where you meet with non-TFL bus services. The route contract novated from First London on 22/06/2013. The route have a PVR of 6 buses and it operated by Go Ahead Blue Triangle from Rainham (BE) garage. The route usually have bus types of Alexander Dennis Enviro400 leased from First Group, Volvo B7TL Plaxton President from Northumberland Park Garage which used to be part of First Group and Go Ahead Wrightbus Gemini Volvo B7TL. Please note the announcements on the iBus was not used on this bus.
